Kargil Vijay Diwas

 Tiger Hill  1999

Kargil Vijay diwas is celebrated on 26 July every  year in the honour of our Great Kargil War's Heroes.

After the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971,  there were several issues occurred  for Siachin Glacier. Resultant, in Attempt to defuse the situation, both countries signed the 'Lahor Declaration' in February 1999 promising to provide a peaceful and bilateral solution to the Kashmir Conflict .

During the winter of 1999 ,some elements of Pakistani were covertly sending pakistani  troops and parliamentary forces ,into territory on the Indian Side  of the LOC.
The infiltration was coded named "Operation Badr
The aim of Pakistani  incursion was to sever the link between kashmiri and ladakh and causes Indian forces to withdraw from Siachin Glacier, thus forcing India to negotiate a settlement of the border kashmir dispute.

The Government of India responded with "Operation Vijay" a mobilization of 200,000 Indian troops. The war came to an official end July 26, 1999,thus marking It as Kargil Diwas. 527 soldiers from Indian armed forces lost thier lives during the war.  Among them  I want to enlighten the bravery of  Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC

Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC

Is a junior commissioned officer (JCO) in the Indian Army. who was awarded the highest military honour decoration, The Param Vir Chakra, for his action durin Kargil war

He was born on 10 May 1980 in Aurangabad, Bulandshahr district of utaar Pradesh. His Father Karan Singh Yadav served in the Kumaon Regiment, participating in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistan wars .
YS yadav joined Army at the very  early age of 16, In the age were children use to play and enjoy. In this age he joined Army.
He was very sure to join Indian army and to serve the mother land .
Great people born to  do unprecedented things .

Ghatak force commandos

YS Yadav enlisted 18 Grenadiers and was a part of Ghatak Force Commando platoon, tasked to capture thre strategic bunker on Tiger Hill in early morning hours of 4 July 1999.The bunkers were situated at the top of a vertical, snow-covered, 1,000 ft (300 m) cliff face. And It was quite impossible to climb the cliff against combat firing.
The Real Hero YS Yadav volunteered to lead the assault, climbed the cliff face and installed ropes that would allow further assaults on the feature. Halfway up, machine gun and rocket fire came from an enemy bunker, killing the platoon commander and two others. In spite of being hit by multiple bullets in his groin and shoulder, Yadav climbed the remaining 60 feet (18 m) and reached the top. Though severely injured, he crawled to the first bunker and lobbed a grenade, killing four Pakistani soldiers and neutralizing enemy fire. This gave the rest of the platoon the opportunity to climb up the cliff face.
YS Yadav then charged the second bunker along with two of his fellow soldiers and engaged in hand-to-hand combat, killing four Pakistani soldiers. The platoon subsequently succeeded in capturing Tiger Hill. Though YS Yadav was hit by 21 bullets he played a major role in its capture.

The way he showed his bravery is   impeccably outstanding.
Friends  just  think  for a while , A boy of age 19 hit by 21 bullets and having  several injuries, had just eaten 3 biscuits in three Days . In this  pathetic condition his urge for  saving our  mother land was precedent.

My heartfelt Salute to our warriors,
Who fought for our Country,  fought for our Dignity .
|Jai Hind| Jai Bharat|
