Journey of 'RAP' in India

                       

RAP means "talk or chat in familiar manner"

Among five  elements of Hipop, Rapping is one of the fundamental elements.

By late 1960s',Rap was a slang term refering to an oration or speech,Such as was the common among the 'Hip crowd' in the protest movements. But it did not comes to be associated with a musical style for another decade.

By late 1970's ,Rap as a Genre began at block parties in New York City by MC.

And From Here Rap started a journey and start spreading all over the World .

By late 1990s' The Idea of Rapping Ignited in India.The Indian Pop singers started analysing the Rap language, its flow , The person Who ignited this scintillating idea is non another then Baba Sehgal.

Baba Sehgal  is a world's first professional Indian hindi rapper, first pop superstar of india & first international award winner Indian singer in nonfilmi category fro mtv us, mtv asia & v channel.His First Rap song 'Dil Dhadke'  was released in the 1992.

He sang so many Rap song during 90s' decade

Some of his best Rap songs are

Thanda Thanda Pani in 1992

Bombay city ka sapna in1993

Manjula in 1994

Ke mai jhut boleyan in 1997

He made his own genre and given a wide scope to new comers ,but his Rapping was not appreciated by people of India

After few years   A new rapper emerged to appreciate rap culture who is non another than 'Bohemia' 

He Dropped his First album (Vich pardeshan de ) in the 2002 .

Bt this album was not accepted by the audience.

Again he dropped his another  album (pesa nasha pyaar)

It didn't became that much famous but people start listening him. And in the Year 2008

He got a chance  in film ( Chandni chowk to China) for a title track . After this movie he Start recognising by the people.

Every body knows him ,Yes He is non Another than  Yo yo Honey Singh.

When the struggle was going on to incuse a genre Rap. Honey Singh was also in the race . He was inspired by baba Sehgal,Bohemia.He started his career by the song 'Peshi' in 2005

Bt it didn't get famous , After one year he dropped a song 'khatke ke Glassy'  , people like the song ,but still he didn't get any recognition.so in the same year he released an adult song ch**t volume to attract the audience.

As expected people like the song as well as Honey Singh got recognition .

Then He created the first  Indian Hipop group named 'Mafia Mundeer' nearly in 2008.

This group gave identity to new rappers 

As like  Badshah,Raftaar,Ikka,Lil Golu

Thier first songs are

Badshah - Mai Aagya

Raftaar - Sadko pe khali pili

Ikka - Main Hun Ikka 

Lil Golu -  Bum bum bhole

And Suddenly in 2012 mafia mundeer got  seperated . And they start releasing thier singles , People Start liking thier songs. playing thier songs in pubs ,clubs,dj,s .

When this all was going on ,

A new rappers emerges from

different cities of  India Mainly Maharashtra,start  rapping in thier  local language .

And In 2019 movie 'Gully Boy ' gave recognition to all those Gully Rappers .

And Now Indian Raps doesn't need any recognition .

So This was  the whole Concept of Journey Of Rap in India
